Shamrock Civil was contracted to undertake the construction of the sediment ponds within the Northern Waters Treatment Plant. The plant treats water from QGC’s northern coal seam gas fields using advanced water treatment technologies with 97 per cent of the water recovered and beneficially reused by the local community and farmers. The scope of works consisted of:

  • Sediment and erosion controls
  • Construction of water storage ponds
  • Site clearing and grubbing
  • Topsoil stripping
  • Cut / fill general fill material
  • Select fill stockpiling and placement

Raw Water Pond construction:

  • Topsoil Stripping 50,500m3
  • Bulk Earthworks 275,00m3
  • Select fill placement 45,000m3
  • Road base placement 15,00m3

Treated Water Storage Pond:

  • Topsoil Stripping 50,500m3
  • Bulk Earthworks 275,00m3
  • Select fill placement 45,000m3
  • Road base placement 15,00m3
