Shamrock Civil Engineering was awarded the contract to refurbish the existing biosolids drying and stockpiling area at the existing water reclamation plant (WRP) in Camperdown, Victoria.

Scope of Work

  • Stripping of stockpile site of vegetation and topsoil
  • Removal of fencing
  • Preparation of access roads to the stockpile site for material importation
  • Stripping of existing biosolids area floor of biosolids and silts including separation of rock from biosolids, stockpiling of biosolids
  • Cut biosolids area to provide 600mm clay depth to finished surface level
  • Filling, forming, compacting and grading of clay liner to design profile using imported and stockpiled clay fill
  • Filling, forming, compacting and grading of 250 mm stabilised wear layer to design profile using cement and lime stabilised clay
  • Refurbishment of access roads and re-profile catch drain
  • Concrete tipping point structure upgrade of site roads and site infrastructure
  • 40,000m2 of stabilized lime and cement to create wear layer for site operation

Project Complications & Achievements

Shamrock Civil were met with challenging ground conditions that were not foreseen during detailed design or tendering. Shamrock Civil worked together with Wannon Water to develop a cost effective solution that met all operational requirements for Wannon Water.
