Shamrock Civil Engineering completed the Chardon Bridge Replacement project for Logan City Council.
The project involved the design and construction of a new two-lane / three-span concrete deck bridge to cross Albert River on Chardon Bridge Road in Cedar Creek. The new bridge replaces a previously existing timber bridge and improves safety and access for vehicles, pedestrians and cyclist alike. It has been designed with future weather events in mind with flood proofing built into the design.
Our project team faced numerous challenges throughout the project including severe weather with Cyclone Debbie resulting in flooding, as well as having to perform the works in a high-risk environmental area. Despite this, the works were completed on-time, with zero lost time injuries and with no environmental breaches. This was a result of the project team’s successful planning and strong commitment to safety and the environment.
