Overview

Shamrock Civil Engineering was awarded the construction of Cell 13 and Cell 10A Capping at Hallam Road Landfill for SUEZ Recycling & Recovery.

Scope of works
  • Construction of 58,000m2 cell including subgrade, geosynthetics, clay, lining, leachate aggregate, groundwater and leachate infrastructure
  • Capping of a cell (30,000m2) including subgrade, geosynthetics, clay, lining, subsoil, topsoil and hydromulch works
  • Bulk earthworks of remaining material in cell: 80,000m3 (Cell 13)
  • Filling works: 17,500m3 (Cell 13), 14,000m3 (Cell 10A)
  • Placement of clay: 57,300m3 (Cell 13), 15,000m3 (Cell 10A)
  • Subsoil: 15,000m3 (Cell 10A)
  • Topsoil: 3,000m3 (Cell 10A)
  • Groundwater Collection System including excavation, 1,700m of 110mm aggregate pipe, 160m of 560mm riser pipe, drains, concrete headwall & slab
  • Leachate Collection System including 1,000m of 160mm collection pipe, 160m of 560mm riser pipe, concrete headwall & slab
