Overview
Shamrock Civil Engineering constructed a new 25Ha evaporation pond at Phosphate Hill integrated Phosphate Fertiliser manufacturing facility in NW Queensland. This facility is owned and operated by Incitec Pivot Limited (IPL) and is located approximately 1,000km by road from Townsville and 200km south of Mt Isa.
Scope of works
- Earthworks – 220,000m3 excavation, 265,000m3 general fill and 1,200m3 gypsum catch berm
- HDPE Liner System – 290,000m2 of cushion geotextile, 51,000m2 of 1.5mm textured HDPE liner and 237,000m2 of 1.5mm smooth HDPE liner
- Construction of Emergency Spillway – reinforced concrete slab and cutoff walls, geomembrane, cushion geotextile and rip-rap
- Stormwater transfer system – 250m of DN630
- Decant pipelines – 2,600m of DN225
- Surge Ditch Connection – DN560 pipes
- Surface drainage works and erosion protection – drainage culverts and rock protection
Achievements
