Shamrock Civil Engineering were awarded the contract for Southpoint Stage B at Southbank for Watpac Constructions.
The works included:
- Site clearance works including complete removal from site for trees, shrubs, asphalt, existing hoardings and existing metal fencing.
- Removal of existing street furniture, tree guards, parking meters, signage and the like and delivering them to South Bank Corporation.
- Demolition and removal of redundant structures including concrete slabs, footpaths, footings, retaining walls, stairs, bollards, fencing, light poles and signs.
- Excavation of lift cores, lift pits and stair core footings.
- Excavation works to construct retention sytem capping beams and tower crane bases.
- Backfilling capping beams between existing retaining wall and new structure.
- Excavation, triming and profiling works between bored piles of shoring walls, to enable the installation of sprayed concrete works.
- Trimming exposed faces of bored piles .
- Supply and installation of imported sub base material.
- Removal and disposal of spoil.
- Construct access ramps and working platforms.
- Installation of Geofabric batter protection.
- Construction of retention system capping beams.
- Excavation works under a heritage listed house, as part of the underpinning process.
- Demolition and removal of temporary bored piles and structural steel works associated with the underpinning.
