VALUE: $5 million
DURATION: November 2017 – November 2018
Overview
Shamrock Civil Engineering was contracted to complete the B05 Overbridge and Ryans Lane Link package for Pacific Complete (on behalf of Roads and Maritime Services, NSW), as part of the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade.
Scope of works
-
- Site clearing
- Storm water drainage including reinforced concrete pipes and headwalls
- Installation and monitoring of geotechnical settlement instrumentation
- Traffic management
- Foundation Treatment / Rock Drainage Layers & high strength geosynthetics
- Earthworks including over 70,000m3 of cut-to-fill & imported material
- Revegetation works on completion
Additionally, Shamrock Civil completed several other variation packages within Portion B, including:
-
- Drainage upgrades to local properties impacted by the W2B project, which formed part of Pacific Complete’s flood mitigation strategy
- Intersection upgrade works adjacent to the existing Pacific Highway (including earthworks, new pavement and line marking – completed as night works)
Achievements
During the project Shamrock Civil proposed an alternative temporary revegetation strategy involving soil binder stabilisation in lieu of topsoil & hydromulching which resulted in a substantial cost saving for Pacific Complete. Due to client satisfaction with Shamrock Civil’s performance, Pacific Complete awarded approximately $1m of variation works which were unrelated to the original scope.
