Construction with Purpose: Making an Impact Beyond the Jobsite
At Shamrock Civil, we believe that great construction isn’t just about the projects we build; it’s about the communities we help strengthen along the way.
Earlier this year, our “Construction with Purpose” initiative brought together the spirit of teamwork, generosity, and community that defines who we are.
During the Yarrawonga Drive Remediation Project in Townsville, our team, led by Senior Project Manager, Nasser Zamara — worked hand-in-hand with our subcontractors, suppliers, and partners to raise an incredible $16,000 for Endeavour Foundation Townsville.
The initiative began as a simple idea: to give back to the local community while delivering local infrastructure. But it quickly grew into something much bigger. The project team rallied together, hosting fundraising activities with bi-weekly BBQ’s and a silent auction, which encouraged everyone on-site to get involved.
“The collaboration between our Shamrock team and our subcontractors was inspiring,” said Nasser. “Everyone on-site was committed not just to delivering a high-quality project, but to making a real difference for people in the community.”
The funds raised were donated directly to Endeavour Foundation Townsville, supporting their work in creating employment opportunities, skills training, and independence for people with intellectual disability. It was a proud moment for everyone involved, reflecting our belief that when we build together, we can change lives, both on and off the jobsite.
Recognised for Giving Back: Shamrock Civil Named Charity Champion
The impact of the “Construction with Purpose” initiative reached even further when Shamrock Civil was named the winner of the Charity Champion Award at the inaugural Endeavour Foundation Awards Lunch.
The award recognises organisations that go above and beyond to support Endeavour Foundation’s mission through fundraising, awareness, and partnership. For us, it was a humbling acknowledgment of the hard work and heart our team poured into the initiative.
A special mention goes to the Yarrawonga Drive project team — Nasser Zamara, Max Foley, Jamie Hart, and Mark Fathers — along with the support of Ollie Parlon and Brendan Kealy. Their leadership and passion turned a project milestone into a moment of genuine community impact.
“We’re incredibly proud to be recognised as Charity Champion,” said Shamrock Civil Managing Director, Brendan Kealy. “This award is a testament to the generosity, teamwork, and community spirit of our people and partners. It’s a reminder that what we build can have purpose well beyond the construction site.”
At Shamrock Civil, construction with purpose isn’t a one-off initiative — it’s a commitment we’ll continue to uphold. Whether through local partnerships, charity work, or sustainable project delivery, we’re proud to keep building for the better.
The inaugural Endeavour Foundation Business Excellence and Impact Awards were held on Thursday 16 October 2025 at Rydges South Bank Brisbane.
