Shamrock Civil Engineering was awarded work packages to construct concrete foundations, crane pads and a block wall building and as part of the ongoing Sun Metals plant expansion works. Due to outstanding performance delivering earlier packages, Sun Metals awarded Shamrock Civil further variation works while established on site to complete the works.

Scope of Work

  • Demolition of existing concrete foundation
  • Detailed excavation of foundations within the active refinery
  • Multiple concrete foundations for reservoir tanks and pump plinths
  • Watermain relocation
  • Installation of sewer pit with associated sewer pipes, high voltage conduits
  • Crane pad installation of 500 tonne crane
  • Laydown hardstand areas
  • Installation of drainage both temporary and permanent
  • Bored piers for pipe supports
  • Construction of MCC building with foundation lined with HDPE lining and building with steel checker plate floor

Project Complications & Achievements

Shamrock Civil successfully completed the works on time, with zero lost time injuries recorded.
