The project was a Joint Venture between Shamrock Civil and Golder Associates who were contracted to undertake the construction of the BC/IX Ponds at the Northern Waters Treatment Plant project.
The ponds consisted of an intricate pond lining system,
requiring close coordination between the lining contractor and the bulk earthworks contractor, which required strict methodology compliance and detailed programming.
The scope of works included:
- 800,000m3 of bulk earthworks for BC/IX ponds;
- Construction of BC/IX Pond discharge structures;
- Construction of all associated stormwater;
- 1,350,000m2 of pond liner;
- Concrete works;
- Mechanical install;
- Associated pipeworks; and
- Embankment remediation and topsoil treatment.
The project was delivered to the design specifications, 1,000 days LTI and MTI free, 8 weeks ahead of schedule, on budget and without any variations.
