Project Complications & Achievements

Service locators and vacuum excavation were utilised on the project to minimise the risk of service strikes. Several design changes required input and innovation from Shamrock, including:
  • The live connections as part of the water main works required several design changes, in order to accommodate the site conditions. This meant that Shamrock had to be proactive in identifying potential constructability issues and service clashes in advance.
  • Redesign of high voltage Energex pits, in order to avoid service clashes(existing gas main) and other existing features (rock anchors).
  • The realignment of a major stormwater line to avoid unexpected service clashes and to minimise the amount of pavement reinstatement works
