  • Final trimmed 50,000m3 of subgrade
  • Installed 50,000m2 each of GCL, Geomembrane and separation Geotextile
  • The leachate collection system included the installation of approx. 1,000m of perforated and solid pipes. The supply and installation of approx. 15,000t of drainage aggregate
  • General maintenance of haul roads used by heavy plant

Project Complications & Achievements

The project team overcame many redesign and environmental challenges and engaged with Cleanaway through the entire process to give constructibility feedback during redesigns and design proposals. The weather event in February 2022 caused significant flooding which stopped works to this cell. During this time, Shamrock Civil assisted Cleanaway and Brisbane City Council by mobilising an emergency clean up crew to assist with removing flood damaged goods from the 3000 streets impacted by flooding in Brisbane. Due to the location of the cell and access constraints, Shamrock Civil used specialist plant such as Moorooka trucks to cart and tip aggregate material over the leachate collection system as they are lightweight and easy to maneuver.
