Shamrock Civil was awarded the civil and bulk earthworks project for the new youth detention centre in Wacol.

Scope of Work

  • Demolition including removing pavement and inground services
  • Site clearing including tree removal and topsoil strip
  • Bulk earthworks including cut to spoil and import fill, Sub-base and base course pavements, Stormwater RCP’s, culverts and pits
  • Electrical conduit installation
  • Combined services trench
  • Crane Pads
  • Temporary works including contractors carpark
  • Strip 33,587m2 of topsoil
  • Cut to spoil 31,265m3 of spoil
  • Rock excavation 5,488m3

Project Complications & Achievements

To assist the overall project program, Shamrock Civil were able work with the client to develop and advise efficient staging plans and programs to ensure the civil program was met and the building schedule was kept on track.
