Overview
Shamrock Civil were contracted by Lend Lease to undertake the civil & bulk earthworks for the Gallipoli Barracks Enoggera LAND 121 project. The project involved the preparation of groundworks, building platforms and civil infrastructure for the construction of new buildings and support facilities for the LAND121 vehicles. New buildings and support facilities including upgrading the existing fuel station to provide ad-blue services, new Q-Store and Shared Vehicle Compound, Trailer Park and upgrade to the existing 7CSSB Compound to include for new mechanical workshops, administration facilities, hazard good store and Q-Store.
Scope of works
- Over 20,000m3 of bulk earthworks across five sites as well as detailed excavation for foundations of six buildings and various footings for reinforced concrete block and crib retaining walls
- Over 2km of Stormwater Drainage ranging from 150mm to 900mm dia pipes, including manholes, inlets and stormwater gross pollutant traps and stormwater treatment devices
- 650m of 150mm dia Sewer pipework and manholes
- Over 2km of inground services including communications, LV electrical, HV electrical, water and dry fire
- 22,000m2 of Cement Treated base Course with Segmental interlocking pavers, 1500m2 Flexible Pavement with Asphalt SurfacingEarthworks including import fill and subgrade trim
Achievements
3D mapping of multiple inground services was performed for desktop clash analysis, detection and problem solving prior to works commencing. 3D mapping was also used to redesign services to be within combined trench and for developing combined trench excavation model for GPS controlled excavation equipment.
